How does the environment benefit our world?

Frederic Engellant: Most people don't understand that the environment doesn't DO anything. The environment just IS what it is.The environment doesn't give you medication, people give you medication. A botanist has to go to the rainforest and find a plant. A chemist has to break down the plant into chemicals. And a manufacturer has to distill it and put it into a bottle.The reason why people want to protect the "environment" is because without the rainforest, the botanitst won't have any plants to find, then the chemist won't have any chemicals, then the manufacturer won't be able to make pills, and then your mom will die at a young age.Most people only see that their mom got the pills and that the manufacturer charges a high price for their drugs. Most people don't see the long chain of events that eventually tie into the environment and that's why environmentalist have such a hard time explaining to people why people should protect the environment.The envionment won't gi! ve you clean air, clean water, or healthy food. The environment is simply what is the result of everyone's and everything's action or inaction. Nadia Crauswell: The environment provides food, water, and air - all needed for life to exist.The environment can also provide medicinal plants, treats (like honey) that are food but not necessary for life, and beauty to look at.

Arlen Hamper: The environment pretty much is our life. With out the environment life would not sustain it self. Producers (plants) need the to grow. If the sun was not there, the herbivores would not have any food because the plants would die so omnivores and carnivores would die too because if herbivores die, a level of the carnivores you die and so on, after a while there would be know animals left, so we would have no eggs, meat, fruit or veggies or bread, we would not ! have any food at all. Magda Vandergriend: The enviroment sustains our life. We need the sun to live, the food that grows on the earth, the water that flows on it, the air we breath in, the very ground we live on. Without the enviroment we wouldn't exist.
