Enriqueta Steffen: For a short period of time
Coleman Senn: My children did not watch television till they were around 3 yo or so, but.... I picked what they watched I always bought educational tapes and tried to watch them with all of them. They are grown up now and they are nice adults. My grandson is the same way. But his mom makes him read everyday school in or out.
Foster Koopmann: The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that children over the age of two have no more than one to two hours of screen time per day. Screen time includes both television and video game time. For many children, two hours may be too much time, especially if the child begins exhibiting attention issues or continually reenacts scenes from TV or video games. Despite the popularity of Baby Einstein videos, children under 2 years of age should not be allowed screen time at all. Babies and toddlers develop social, motor, cognitive, and language skills during these formative ye! ars. Screen time reduces development of these skills. Children need to interact with live human beings to develop these crucial abilities. Many parents feel that they grew up with TV and developed appropriately, though they may be attributing some of their own difficulties to other sources. In addition, there are far more opportunities for screen time today than there were even ten years ago. Did your families vehicle have a built in DVD player?...Show more
Romeo Tinnea: let your kid watch tv after 3 years old..b/c you r basicly turning your child to a zombie by doing that...when he gets older it will be harder for him to socialize
Doreatha Kjellsen: I let him watch at 2 and it was PBS. He was a Sesame Street and Mister Rogers fan.He is now 9 and watches about 2 hours a day. Mostly Nickelodean. Jimmy Neutron, Sponge Bob, and such.
Alise Rutgers: i let my daughter watch tv when she was about 1....I let her watch childrens educational shows on nick j! r and ABC.She watches it until she's had enuf and then continu! es on withher play.My daughter is 2 now and thes shows have taught her some fantastic words and learning skills. Her favourites are the wiggles and Hi5.She dances all the time to Hi5 so she's getting more exercise on top of myself taking her out....Show more
Jodie Capella: My four-year-old has always loved watching TV. As a baby, he would sit quietly and watch, which helped me out a lot! But I always made sure he was watching educational programs (still do...none of this Spongebob crap!), and it's amazing how much he learns from watching TV. (He actually used chopsticks correctly the other day, which I can't even do, and he told me he learned it on Elmo's World!) He is also very imaginative and artistic and plays well with his toys and with other children, so I haven't done any damage, although at times I do think he watches a bit too much, and I usually end up having to turn the TV off during the day to make him stop watching. My one-year-old, on the other hand, ! has no interest in sitting still for anything! He has never had any interest in watching anything on TV, and he would rather run around and wreak havoc wherever he goes! He is just a little ball of energy. I don't think I'll ever have an issue with him watching too my TV...he can't sit still long enough!...Show more
