Jannette Kotz: It doesn't. It is a chloroflorocarbon (CFC). There is not enough of it in the atmosphere to significantly contribute to global warming. It is, however, said to break down the ozone layer. The Ozone layer is not the same as global warming. In fact, there are some that say that the ozone layer contributes slightly to global warming. CFC and global warming are 2 separate issues.
