Florencio Dingle: They should be paid more. Once just any idiot can't become a teacher, then the applicant numbers grow and bad teachers can be fired. If there's a shortage of teachers and the pay is low, you get what you get.We have the same problem here in the states. The absentee rate isn't as bad, but the quality of teachers and the education they provide their students is largely substandard. If the profession is valued, compensated and held to an appropriate standard, the problem goes away....Show more
