Houston Venezia: I would strongly recommend you go with an LCD TV rather than a projector. For the same pq (picture quality) TVs are far cheaper than projectors.Next comes the sound. A HTIB (home theater in a box) system is the most economical. It will not sound as good and will not have the wide variety of inputs a separate component system will but it will be cheaper. An HTIB will have one component that contains a player, a preamp, a processor, and an amplifier all built into one container. Of course cramming all that stuff into one box creates problems with heat, and you will not have near the performance of separate ! components, but it will go lighter on your wallet. An HTIB will come with a powered sub-woofer. It won't be anything to write home about but if you were that worried about sound quality you would not be so worried about budget. If, however, you are concerned about sq go with separate components. The cheapest separate component system will sound far better than the most expensive HTIB....Show more
