How is the public transportation system in Las Vegas?

Coleman Petropoulos: Unless you're both under 21, you'll find a lot of hotel rooms that will be cheaper at double occupancy than the hostels in Las Vegas, particularly downtown where they won't hit you with additional resort fees. You can get midweek rates less than $30/night.The transportation system is okay for getting to the main areas of town. Assuming the wedding isn't in some far-flung place, your boyfriend should have no trouble getting around as long as he plans ahead....Show more

Geraldo Mccalla: Yeah you should get a car incase but Vegas as a very good public transportation system. You might not need one.

Manual Burtis: good cheap hotels on fremont, el cortez is one. plaza both downtown fremont arearuns good specials, call the hotels and check online.bus system is 24/7 and cheap. get a 1 week pass at the bus stationfor the very best value. bus system the cheapest form of transporation there.

Helen Zafar: There are tons of ways to get around La! s Vegas. If you would like to pay for something you can rent a car, take a taxis, take the monorail. or take the bus. There are buses in Las Vegas that mostly tourists use and run the length of the strip. Additionally, there are also free options such as walking, shuttle buses, and trams. Toshiko Reimers: Transportation in Vegas is good and cheap especially on the strip.

Rana Rudell: You either need a car, or need to plan to use taxis, if you aren't staying on or particularly near the strip. There is a decent bus system up and down the strip, and there are buses throughout the city too. That may work for you, depending on whether the hostel is on or near the bus line. I'd look into a hotel on the strip. There are some pretty low-budget options, some nicer than others, and you wouldn't need a car OR have to rely much on taxis (if at all). Check into Flamingo, ! Bally's, Harrah's, The Quad (was Imperial Palace), Tropicana, ! Excalibur, and Luxor....Show more

Curtis Josef: By Northeast standards, Las Vegas has a horrible mass transit system for a metro area of its size. It would be more comparable to Southern California or the Southeast, neither of which is known for its mass transit. You can find some really cheap hotels in Las Vegas, especially if you are over 21. You just have to watch for the hidden resort fees that are common in Las Vegas. A hotel may advertise that it costs $25 per night to stay there and then thrown in a $15 per night mandatory resort fee that is in the very, very small print....Show more

Marielle Hedeiros: Hostel is Downtown! But bus system can work but slow especially with transfers and depending on where you are going. Where are you doing research, local library, UNLV, etc. A car would make things easier
