Is it weird to constantly think about death at weddings?

Coleman Senn: they're no longer fairly wierd, although they do no longer seem to be precisely classic, the two. Mormons who're married in a civil ceremony could have classic weddings (regardless of "classic" skill to the couple, besides), yet Mormons have faith that marriages achieved by utilising the suited authority can final perpetually and not in basic terms till dying. those perpetually marriages are achieved in our temples, and that they are fairly distinctive, sure. incredibly of having the bride stroll down the aisle to the waiting groom, the two bride and groom meet in what we call a sealing room. There, they kneel at an regulate and are married (sealed) for time and eternity by utilising somebody with the authority to achieve this. the attitude is a sprint distinctive, meaning that the words can each and every from time to time be a sprint distinctive (there is not any point out of dying or the 'in ailment and in wellbeing' situation), besides the undeniable fac! t that it fairly only relies upon on the only performing the ceremony. we don't have predetermined words for a marriage. and those in attendance could be worth Mormons themseleves, yet i does not say it fairly is extraordinary, could you? There are no unusual rituals or chanting or something like that, and that i do no longer understand the place your first commenter's "slit throat" situation comes from, yet temple weddings are very appealing and straightforward. Your classmate could have heard something incorrect, it fairly is why he made that assertion. And in order that which you recognize, we are actually not a cult. we are Christians....Show more

Rose Krouse: If ALL you do is get "drunk", "hit on girls" and "think about Death" you ARE weird indeed. Too, your idea that Weddings are a "ONCE in a lifetime event" is flawed.... A lot of people these days apparently get married (and divorced) MULTIPLE times !Beyond all that ,NO ONE "lives for ever" , and EVERYBODY KN! OWS THAT !Why all the negative thoughts? I would think in your! "darkness" (of all people), you would be "motivated" to make the MOST of LIFE each day instead of wondering WHY everybody else is "LIVING IT". Life is a Journey...a process...and (so it seems) you have a L-O-N-G W-A-Y to go ! Hopefully, you STILL have time to find optimism and purpose in Life . To seek the "warm golden glow of tomorrow" . Stop drinking, chasing girls and expand your outlook on the world. If you don't, there won't be much to show for Life when you do die. IF you think about it, that failure will only compound your current frustration , and the "bar will be closed" .Good luck. Peace....Show more

Lulu Bukowiecki: I would venture to say that you have some emotional tie in your past to weddings, gatherings, church, etc. I used to be extremely uncomfortable when I got around elderly people. I would feel drawn to them and then a panicky feeling would overwhelm me and cause me to pull back. Just a sad feeling. I was doing a lot soul-searching and prayin! g (yes I am a believer) and one night I said to myself, I'm afraid they are going to die and I'm afraid of the pain of losing someone. I discovered it came from separate experiences I had when my mother and father lost their parents. I somehow interpreted as a child that it was a pain that was not survivable. Weird but I was very young. You could be having this type of experience. If you walked your sister down the isle does that indicate you might have lost your parent(s)? It sounds like these places and gatherings may be triggering a deep fear you have from a loss of some kind. Either way, as adults we can look back at those experiences and say "my interpretation of the events is not totally accurate because, I was a child (my parents did survive the loss of their parents). Separate out the truth from fiction. Know that life has no guarantee but we can have the most awesome day today that we've ever had. Hiding and burying your feelings only prolongs the issue. ! You will have to deal with it sooner than later. I love God and place ! my life in his hands. I know he will be with me wherever I go and whatever I need. It is a journey, not a destination and it's not over until it's over. Live your life and be happy, you are worth it. I hope that offers you some hope. Lots of love!...Show more
