Giovanna Cramblit: If you didn't want to deploy, why did you join? I have never heard of it being called I strand or O strand before, even the NAMP calls it I level and O level (and D level) maintenance. Orders are usually given out by class standing, it is called incentive to do your best. If you want first pick, be the top Marine in your class, otherwise you get your choice of left overs.
Jasper Mangel: The least deployed aircraft in the US Marines are the VH-3D Sea King or the newer, smaller VH-60N "WhiteHawk" belonging to the HMX-1 "Nighthawks" squadron.Very difficult to get into that unit though.
