Lucien Hellerman: landscaping involves creating a garden or park etc .starting with a peice of bare or derelict land and transforming it into an area of beauty or improving what was already there.
Kandi Lough: There is a bunch of different branches of landscaping, such as but not limited to lawn care, irrigation, stone work, and all the way up to architecture where you need 180 college credits to call yourself an architect. Trash and tree removal isn't really landscaping, but can be classified as landscape maintenance, which is still really cool. To be a landscaper, you must be able to change a piece of presumably unattractive portion of land and turn it into an aesthetic or functional (or anything in between) work of art and know a lot about plants and particular environments....Show more
Nia Monopoli: well, you need to learn about plants, trees, horticulture, and landscape design first. then you need to learn about drainage and sprinkler systems. you know,! some plants, grasses, etc need full sun and some don't. some plants dont need any water and some need lots of water. you have to learn about all of that and then be able to draw out a landscape design. there is soil preparation to consider as well as leveling out the job site and other stuff. plumbing skills are nice to have in this trade.if one of your customers has a few plants they want planted, you can do the labor, but landscape design is this big complicated thing you will have to study at for a while. it can get really complicated.GL to you! jim...Show more
