I'm sure there are musical theatre extra courses one could take should they choose to, but I would think that a theatre major would refer to only theatre. All schools have course calendars you can look at on their websites (they should have them at least!) so you can easily find out exactly what is required in each program....Show more
Katheryn Skrobacki: In general, there are two different kinds of theatre programs: Theatre and Musical Theatre. Unless you are majoring in Musical Theatre, there really won't be a huge need for singing seeing as they are concentrating primarily in the methods of acting, etc. However, schools do offer singing lessons, usually for a fee in the Music program!
