But most kids don't have their portfolio ready and since they must specify one major (no undeclared), many students choose to transfer into Art Center after attending college elsewhere for a year or longer. I think maybe the majority do. Only a certain number of credits will be applied to an Arts college, so check and plan.All types of art are very competitive businesses to be in. You can gain a lot by attending a regular college first to help gain skills and an education to get a job. But for some kids they are ready to attend a visual arts college right out of high school, they have a passion, it depends on the student. Also, these colleges are often expensive, so something to really consider if you're looking into loans.
